Review for Bread + Butter in Coral Gables

New, 5 comments

Emily Codik visits Bread + Butter, chef Albert Cabrera's Cuban spot in Coral Gables, which she says has gained a "loyal following". She describes the eatery as "Brooklyn chic meets Havana tropical – a unique mishmash that's distinctively Miami". She adds, "it's contemporary, reflecting current epicurean trends".

However, she finds some "troubles" with the chef in terms of the kitchen and staff, saying that some dishes arrived out of order, the "restaurant lacks a manager" and "until recently ? had no chef de cuisine". Codik adds that "the chef is without big pockets and investors", and that Bread + Butter is evolving "the old-fashioned way". [SO]
