Samba Brands Management, the group behind the SushiSamba restaurants, Sugarcane Raw Bar & Grill in Miami and Duck & Waffle in London, is opening up a new modern Italian restaurant called Bocce Bar (Yes, there will be a bocce court). Plans are for the spot to open up sometime late 2013 in Midtown at 3252 NE 1st Avenue. Helming the kitchen will be executive chef Timon Balloo of Sugarcane, who will create a small plate sharing menu Italian favorites like crudos, house-made pastas and fresh-baked breads.
