Back in October, chef Jonathan Eismann (formerly of Pacific Time and others, most recently a guest chef at Mercadito) was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident; now he faces charges of "vehicular homicide" and "leaving the scene of an accident with property damage". Apparently chef Eismann crashed into a Nissan and while fleeing from the scene of the accident lost control of his car, hitting a utility pole and "pedestrian Jean Carlos Ruiz", who died on the spot. Short Order reports that "bond was set at $16,000" and his hearing is due to take place on July 5. [SO]
