The recently opened Cypress Room gets a visit from Emily Codik, who says the Design District spot "keeps it classy" and acts as a "symbol of refined America". Codik also notes this is chef Michael Schwartz' "most ambitious venture yet", one which he himself "announced as the pinnacle of his values". Dish wise, Codik pours over the frog legs and the "stunning" and "delicious" display of chef "Alcudia's royal red shrimp" and of all other items, has only positive things to say.
She doesn't forget to mention pastry chef Hedy Goldsmith either, who, at The Cypress room, swaps her "Keds" for "stilettos" and "orchestrates a fancier feast". Finally, she concludes that "despite the genteel voices and shiny stemware, the best parts of dinner at the Cypress Room have little to do with formalities" and more to do with indulging in a great meal.
