Back in March we spotted a new restaurant under construction in Miami Beach called Savory Bakery & Café; now the new Purdy Ave. eatery is just about ready to open. Turns out the bakery is owned by two brothers, Maxime and Fabien Bernard, both of whom hold degrees in hospitality management from a Swiss hotel management school. Maxime tells Eater that they've loved food since a young age and says, "sharing our passion has driven us to open our own establishment".
Though this is the first time they open their own restaurant, they've previously been involved in opening other restaurants overseas and in Miami and have worked in luxury hotels and restaurants (such as The Setai) in the states as well as abroad in France, Spain and Morocco. There is no official opening date, but they hope to get going sometime mid-July. Once they do open, they'll be offering service seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., serving up breakfast and lunch. Expect eggs benedict, French toast, fresh croissants, artisan sandwiches, paninis, quiche, salads and a variety of pastries.
