John Kunkel's Latest Venture, Patpong Road

New, 2 comments

There's a new addition to the ever-expanding and exciting 50 Eggs empire: John Kunkel's latest concept called Patpong Road and it's opening August 23, right above the trendy Khong River House. A press release notes that Patpong will be a "Bangkok chic" bar, inspired by Thailand's Red Light District and aimed at bringing Miamians a taste of the "sexier, grittier" side of Thailand. As per offerings, expect "Thai-influence snacks", cocktails served "in authentic Thai fashion", out of plastic bags, and "a mix of 90's hip-hop music curated by DJ Jessica Who". Décor wise, think "vintage light bulbs", "vintage tin", "exposed brick walls" and "wood paneling", coming together to create an "intimate spot for guests to relax".

Behind the cuisine are the talented chefs from Khong, "trained in traditional Thai cooking methods" and Sudarat Laosupho, who will be the "head of the kitchen family" and who you can call "Mama Pai". Some of the dishes available include Thai Street Food, "Everything on a Stick (Pork, Chicken, Shrimp)", Drunken Rice Noodles, "Long bean, bell pepper, bamboo, onions and eggs, tossed with chili and holy basil" and Mini Pad Thai, "Tangy tamarind sauce with egg, cripsy tofu, peanuts, and chives". On the edge of your seat yet?
