A big congrats to former Miami chef Norman Van Aken (currently at Norman's at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando), who just received the "Grand Prix Gastronomic Culture Prize" from the International Academy of Gastronomy (AIG). According to Short Order, this is the first time ever that AIG has "given this prestigious award to an American -- and a Miamian at that!" [SO]
