The District Miami is Opening Next Month

New, 2 comments

The Design District is about to welcome a new restaurant to its already impressive offerings: The District Miami.

According to a press release, the new eatery was created by managing partner Alexander Ringleb, who's previously worked with restaurants like Casa Tua, DeVito's, Balthazar & Pastis in New York and Wolfgang's Steakhouse in Beverly Hills. Along with him comes partner and executive chef Horacio Rivadero (named Best New Chef for the Gulf Region by Food & Wine in 2012). As per what Rivadero will be cooking up in the kitchen, think "Pan-American flavors". "With its Pan-American fusion", says Ringleb, "The District Miami will embody what Miami is today, a true blend of cultures". Chef Rivadero says his dishes "will reveal a cultural
taste of North, South, Central America and the Caribbean, all prepared with local produce from each area, bringing to light the best of each region". Think menu items like a Vermont Brie and Chipotle Burger, Florida Gulf Swordfish, Lobster Malanga Tacos, and desserts like pastelitos with guava and goat cheese. They'll be serving only dinner once they open (in October), but plan to launch Sunday brunch at a later date.
