Rice Paradise Offers Gluten-Free Sweets in Hallandale

Photo via Facebook

Attention gluten-free eaters, there's a new spot on Hallandale called Rice Paradise, a "gluten-free rice pudding and cake shop". It's owned by "twenty-four year old Szandra Szeghalmi", who makes her treats using her "Hungarian grandmother's recipes". Szeghalmi tells Short Order, "rice cake is a typical Hungarian recipe ? I grew up on rice cake, it's a kids meal, but we also wanted to create something new, different, and more than the frozen yogurt shops everywhere. The area needs something different." And it isn't just Hallandale getting something different; Szeghalmi has plans to turn Rice Paradise into a franchise and open several outposts "in the next year and a half".
