Barmeli Miami Tapas, the Upper East Side's New Wine Bar

The Upper East Side has welcomed another restaurant to its offerings, Barmeli Miami Tapas, a Mediterranean spot with a focus on tapas and exotic wines, which opened its doors on January 13.

The new wine bar is belongs to former Ouzo's Greek Taverna and Anise Taverna owner Liza Meli, who will be hosting wine tastings each Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. for $25 per person. Stop by the 725 NE 79th street location Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to midnight to check them out, or drop in during happy hour from 5 to 7p.m. for complimentary tapas, $5 select wines and $3 beers.
