Seasalt and Pepper, a 200-seat seafood restaurant with three kitchens helmed by chef Alfredo Alvarez, opened about two months ago on the Miami River. Not only has the young eatery been receiving a lot of local attention, but apparently it's also become somewhat of a celeb hotspot, frequented by the likes of Beyonce and Jay Z. Here's what people are saying so far:
The Best of His Life News: Actor Ryan Phillippe shared the lovin' on Twitter where he wrote, "Just had one of the best dining experiences of my life … Truly unbelievable. Go if you can." [Twitter]
The Amazing Taste News: "Seasalt and Pepper is definitely a place for good hospitality and service," writes one Yelper adding, "and the ravioli is a must have! Amazing truffle sauce... Great just to start, the taste is amazing!" The "only downside," she notes, is that "drinks are overpriced." [Yelp]
The FOH vs. BOH News: Also over on Yelp, a woman wasn't as impressed by front of house aspects (saying, "it's a mess") as she was by the back of the house, which "has their shit together." Though service and her experience with being accommodate left her wanting, the food did not. It "came out quickly," she writes, "it was beautiful, and delicious. The octopus was the best I've ever had, and that says a lot. Spot on." [Yelp]
The Shit Show News: One reader Eater emailed saying his experience "was the absolute worst shit show ever." Several things went wrong including being seated under a dripping air conditioning duct and waiting twenty minutes to be seated at the supposedly empty restaurant. He concludes by saying, "the food was good... but not worth the money. The decor and location were superb... however were overshadowed by the poor service." [EaterWire]
The Tweetworthy News: Miami based writer Sara Liss tweets her thoughts: "This place is stunning (and packed)." [Twitter]
The Sweet and Simple News: "This place deserves every one of the five stars I gave it," writes one reviewer on Yelp, "It is a rare occurrence when I walk out of a restaurant impressed by every aspect of the dining experience." [Yelp]
