Il Mulino New York is nearing an opening at the former Clark's space in the South of Fifth area. The restaurant, with outposts in places likes Las Vegas, Aspen, and Chicago, plans to launch its second Florida location "this winter," according to a press release. Executive chef Michele Mazza says "[t]he menu will be consistent in style and flavor with the offerings at our flagship restaurant," so expect a similar dining experience only with "dishes that speak to the unique flavor of South Beach." Design-wise, the 2,000 square foot Il Mulino created by architect Robert Spataro and interior designers Lee Katzoff and Rozhia Tabnak, "reflects a fusion of metropolitan sophistication and South Beach Art Deco." Plans are for the new spot to launch late January or early February, so be on the look out.
