Dana De Greff of Short Order tried to celebrate the Korean New Year early at Shokudo and was left a bit disappointed. She writes that the Kalbi, a Korean-style BBQ dish of short ribs marinated for 72 hours in soy sauce, sake, apples, onions, and brown sugar, was served haphazardly and that "the tough -- and at times, gristly -- texture was thoroughly off-putting."
