Verde Celebrates Oktoberfest; Burgerliscious is Back

In the mood for things like bratwurst, potato salad, beers and burgers? Look no further.

DOWNTOWN — For PAMM's Third Thursdays this month, Verde is getting into the Oktoberfest spirit tomorrow, October 16. Expect beer poached bratwurst with house made sauerkraut and German potato salad — yeah, we do have that in Miami. But don't worry non-meat-eaters, vegetarian options are also available. Local Florida beers like Funky Buddha Crusher IPA, Tequesta Oktoberfest and Cigar City's Cracker Pale are only $4. [EaterWire]

MULTIPLE LOCATIONS — Food Network Star is now casting for Season 11 of its show. Open casting calls will take place in Los Angeles, Denver, Philadelphia, Austin, Atlanta, New York City and Miami. If you're here on November 11 and want to give it a shot, the casting takes place at Epic Hotel from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Otherwise, you can submit a home video this way. [EaterWire]

CORAL GABLES — If nothing sounds better to you than a beer and a big juicy burger, then mark your calendars for the fourth annual Burgerliscious festival on November 6 to 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Fred B. Hartnett Ponce Circle Park. 15 restaurants will be participating this year, competing for the People's Choice award and churning out tons of burgers. Participating restaurants so far include Bread and Butter, Crave, Rok:Brgr and Shake Shack. [EaterWire]
