The Emperor Arrives At Soo Woo Miami

Miami's newest Asian restaurant announces the addition of chef Bryan Emperor to the kitchen.

New to the Soo Woo culinary team is New York native Bryan Emperor, a chef with over 25 years of experience. Emperor began his career at the Culinary Institute of America where he honed in on his Japanese cooking skills. He then completed apprenticeships in Tokyo, continuing his Japanese studies as well as learning Korean-style yakiniku and later trained at a Kaiseki restaurant. When he returned to New York, Emperor landed a position at Nobu, after which he worked under chefs Jean Georges and Gray Kunz. Eventually, he opened up a Japanese restaurant in China.

Other restaurants he's worked at include Departure in Portland and Ten in Charlottesville. A press release writes:

He applies the authentic methods and techniques that he has learned from many years training abroad. His menus are not Westernized as many other Asian restaurants, and incorporates some truly unique ingredients, beverages and equipment that aren't seen outside of Asia.

Stay tuned for more info and official opening dates.
