The Shelborne Hotel Reopens; The Rock Moves to SW Ranches

The latest from our real estate counterpart, Curbed Miami.

1) South Beach: The Shelborne, long known as a rather wild party place, is wrapping up its $90 million renovation and has reopened as the Shelborne Wyndham Grand South Beach. Check out our photo tour, this way.

2) Cooper City: He hasn't even finished moving in yet, and actor Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson, is already expanding his brand new $5.5 million house in Southwest Ranches, with an additional 5,000 square foot wing to contain a gym and guest house for his trainer.

3) South Beach: Here's an example of historic preservation gone blah: Lincoln Road's Van Dyke Building, formerly home of the much loved Van Dyke Cafe, has a new ground level facade that was supposed to be a recreation of the original. Let's just say, it sucks.
