In a somewhat surprising announcement, neMesis Urban Bistro took to its Facebook page on Sunday afternoon to announce that the restaurant would be closing its doors for good on December 10. The 30-seat restaurant by former Top Chef contestant Micah Edelstein has been a favorite of those in the food scene since opening in July 2011.
Edelstein stated on the restaurant’s Facebook page that this wasn’t a forced closure and that, "I'm closing her because I want to. The time has come for the new."
As for what's next Edelstein tells Eater Miami, "I have a couple of concepts that are begging to be developed, though nothing is set in stone as yet. My plan is to first give neMesis a proper send off, next to enjoy the holidays with my daughter while looking at a few of those possibilities, and after that focus on what comes next," she says. "I feel creative business ventures have a way of working out in the best manner if you leave yourself open to anything."
For the restaurant's last month in business it has lined up a wine dinner on November 19, Sunday Brunch on November 30 and a ‘Big Night Feast’ for its final day on Wednesday, December 10. Reservations can be made by calling the restaurant at 305-415-9111. [Facebook]
