What can only be testament to Miami's growing food scene -- or great weather, either way we'll take it -- Khong River House has finally brought on a new Executive Chef, Malaysian born, former Top Chef Masters contestant Patricia Yeo.
As earlier reported by Miami.com, Yeo was tapped for the Executive Chef position after it was left vacant due to the sudden and messy departure of the restaurant's former Executive Chef Piyarat Arreeratn a.k.a Chef Bee's in July 2013.
Yeo comes to Khong with an extensive resume including stints working with Bobby Flay and Chinese "cooking scholar" Barbara Tropp, an appearance on Season 4 of Bravo's Top Chef Masters (she placed fourth), has written two successful cookbooks and has run several high-end restaurants including AZ, Pazo and Sapa in New York City and Ginger Park in Boston. Most recently she was working with Chicago-based restaurant group Lettuce Entertain You serving as the brand’s Creative Director.
As for Yeo's revamped menu at Khong, it'll include "refined preparations of Khong classics" along with new items such as Duck Confit Chinese Sausage Fried Rice; Golden Shrimp & Crab Dumpling; Silk Road Lamb Kofta and Lemongrass-Cured Salmon with Salsa Verde and Lemon Gelee.
And it seems that Yeo has hit the ground running, already working away in Khong's kitchen according to restaurant reps.
