IKRA Restaurant & Lounge Opens its Doors in Sunny Isles

Mediterranean seafood from Ukrainian restaurateur Roman Gurevych.

Named after the Russian word for caviar, ‘IKRA' is Sunny Isles' new Mediterranean-inspired restaurant from Ukrainian restaurateur Roman Gurevych. Gurevych, one of the partners of restaurant group Carte Blanche and creator of VaBene Bistro and Caleton Beach Club in Odessa, plans to make IKRA an "innovative restaurant" that will "fuse Mediterranean cuisine with French technique to offer a rich, flavorful menu catering to each guest's desires in a unique and exciting dining setting" of "European opulence combined with contemporary elegance."

A press release notes that the 15,000 square-foot IKRA will serve as more than just a culinary destination. The lofty venue will have a stage for live entertainment, a private karaoke room, an outdoor terrace and a hookah lounge.

At the helm of IKRA's international kitchen is Patrick Kirchner, a French chef with experience running the kitchens of various restaurants in France and Switzerland. Kirchner previously worked as executive chef at Baoli Miami before joining the IKRA team as executive chef.

Menu offerings will range from sea urchin caviar and Kumamoto oysters from the raw bar, to linguine with sturgeon caviar and seafood ceviche, and for those less adventurous, plenty of more conventional options.
