In yet another there's nothing else like it in Miami restaurant opening story, today is the soft opening for the new Ted's at YoungArts, a collaborative performance art and restaurant space.  Named for YoungArts' co-founder Ted Arison, the space is a collaboration that combines the live arts and media of YoungArts with the culinary vision of Starr Restaurant Catering Group.  The space, designed by legendary American architect Frank Gehry, is sure to be one of the most visually interesting in the city.

Per the website, "Ted's at YoungArts is an intimate performance lounge and eatery located on the 7th Floor of YoungArts' Tower building on Biscayne Boulevard." The space will provide diners an intimate setting to interact with artists and their art, like dance, photography, video installation, and more, while enjoying food inspired by the surroundings.

For the soft openings, happening today, December 17, through Saturday, December 20, YoungArts has invited back several alumni back to give performances, while diners will be treated to tapas and a full bar. In the new year, the space will be open Wednesday to Saturday from 6 p.m. to closing, with Sunday openings coming later. An official opening date has not been set, though Wednesday, January 7, seems likely.  For the complete schedule of this week's performances, click here.
