Up in Fort Lauderdale, a new "upscale Italian" restaurant called Canale Restaurant & Bar is making its debut. According to Clean Plate Charlie, the Riverfront restaurant is owned by Franco Agostino, a native Italian, who's working with a Piedmont chef to develop a menu of affordable and authentic Italian cuisine with "price points under $30." Though the blog expresses restaurateurs' hesitance at opening anything on Riverfront, which has "been a veritable dead zone for the better part of a decade," Agostino tells them, "I'm happy with the deal I've made," adding, "I feel very confident about the area."
