The 46th Outpost of Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza

When owner Anthony Bruno moved down from New York and opened his first restaurant in Florida with his father in 1982, Anthony's Runway 84, he probably couldn't imagine owning 45 pizzerias two decades later. Come 2002, Bruno, whose father had been in New York's restaurant industry for years, launched the first Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza in Fort Lauderdale. The pizzeria has since seen an enormous amount of growth and expansion and it doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon. Bruno tells Eater the upcoming South Beach location of Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza, which is scheduled to open sometime end of May-beginning of June, will make this his 46th expansion and his fourth Florida location to have a full liquor bar. Space-wise, Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza in South Beach will have about 90 to 100 seats with indoor and outdoor dining options. The menu will remain classic Anthony's. If "you're only as good as your last pizza," like Bruno says, then Anthony's is doing pretty wonderfully for itself.
