Will Aventura Mall's Mammoth Expansion Be the End of the Food Court?

So, Aventura Mall is going to become the second largest mall in the country, according Curbed Miami, and likely one without a food court. Plans for a "huge expansion" are well in place with an entire new wing to be constructed, which "will extend from the food court." Does this mean Mrs. Fields is disappearing and enormous cookies will be no longer? And what about Pasha's and Five Guys? Charley's and the other handful of restaurants there? Curbed reports that it does not seem like the food court will be replaced. Employees at the mall may lament not having a place to lunch on their breaks and shoppers might be disappointed with the lack of commonly affordable mall food, but, like our sister site writes, "perhaps the $8 Lo Mein Special is a little déclassé for a mall of Aventura's high-end calibre." There will, after all, still be Bella Luna, Rosalia and The Cheesecake factory... And, lot's of extra high-end stores. Head over this way for renderings and plans.
