$50 Million Penthouse In Contract; Miami In Old Newsreels

1) Mid Beach: The $50 million penthouse at the Lord Norman Foster-designed Faena House in Mid Beach has just gone into contract. The sale price hasn't gone public yet, but if it's anywhere near $50 mill, the penthouse could steal the record for the most expensive condo sale in South Florida history.

2) Everywhere: Check out these historic British newsreels of Miami through history. Highlights include the 'new rubber bathing suite of 1933' and beachside snowball fights, which apparently were a freak fad at one point.

3) South Beach: In the 1950s, when department stores oozed snob appeal, Burdine's was the best. Do take a look at these black and white photos of the store's Lincoln Road location in its postwar, midcentury modern prime.
