Chefs' Bocce Ball Tournament; The Fed's Barbecue Palooza

UPPER EAST SIDE — If you're hanging out in Miami this weekend (brave souls) and feel like going out to eat but don't want to run into the South Beach madness, head over to The Federal Food Drink & Provisions. Besides being off the beaten path and less likely to be insanely packed, The Fed's offering a three day "Barbeque Palooza" menu, starting today. And there's cocktails, too: bottomless bubbles and beer for $15 and $5 house cocktails, all night Friday and Saturday, and $20 bottomless bubbles and beer during Sunday night dinner service. MIDTOWN — We knew Bocce Bar would eventually tap into chefs' secret bocce playing talents and alas, they will. On Monday, the restaurant's hosting Miami's first official chefs' Bocce Ball Tournament, where Miami chefs will duke it out for the prestigious title of Bocce King/Queen. First up on Memorial Day, Scarpetta's Nina Compton steps on the court with The Federal's Cesar Zapata. Locals are encouraged to stop by and cheer them on. [EaterWire]

COCONUT GROVE — Yeah, pub crawls are fun, but you feel awful the next day. With a "dishcrawl," however, you go to sleep happy and wake up feeling fantastic and (bonus), requiring zero breakfast. If you're interested in trying it out, the next Dishcrawl is June 18 at 7 p.m. Remember that restaurants aren't revealed until 48 hours prior to the event. Tickets can be purchased this way.
