Wok Box Fresh Asian Kitchen, a Canadian-based fast-casual chain that serves up wok-cooked Asian cuisine, plans to expand to 44 locations throughout Florida in the next six years, per a press release. Wok Box's main meals consist of stir fry noodle boxes, rice boxes and curry boxes, all influenced by the flavors of ten Asian regions, including Thailand, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Korea, China, Japan, India, Cambodia and Vietnam. CEO Lawrence Eade says, "we're the best of all those countries. And then some."
Apparently, Wok Box, originally founded in 2004 as a single store in downtown Edmonton, Alberta, has signed an Area Development Agreement that states 24 of the locations will be developed in South Florida, in cities including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach and Fort Myers, among others. The first location will open by the end of summer in Coral Springs; Aventura and Coral Gables will follow shortly after.
