Mexican hospitality company Cinbersol Group is bringing one of its restaurants, Cantina La Veinte, to Miami this summer. Opening at Icon Brickell, across from Cipriani, the eatery will offer a menu of traditional Mexican cuisine, 220 indoor/outdoor seats and an outdoor waterfront patio overlooking Brickell Key and Biscayne Bay. The Art Deco meets traditional cantina restaurant boasts a floor-to-ceiling black onyx bar with antiqued mirrors and a geometric, pyramid-shaped black and gold chandelier, design elements put together by Mexican architectural firm Niz + Chauvet.
Cantina La Veinte will also have its own market adjacent to the outdoor dining area, which will offer an array of wines, cheeses, a coffee and juice bar and a deli with fresh made-to-order sandwiches. Cooking things up will be Mexico City-based executive chef Santiago Gomez, who will create authentic Mexican dishes like Huachinango Frito, a deep fried, whole-roasted red snapper with chile de arbol salsa and garlic flakes; and Cecina de Yecapixtla, thinly sliced smoked beef, herb Requesón cheese, cream and Nopal cactus salad. As for drink offerings, Cantina's publicists say the restaurant will be home to "one of the largest selection of high-end tequilas and mezcals in the United States, as well as a versatile list of fine wines."
The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner, sometime summer 2014.
