One Day, Two Million Wings at Hooters; Florida is Barbecue Hot

FLORIDA — Curious to know where Florida stands on the least to most barbecue crazed states list? National real estate search site Estately released a "map of American barbecue enthusiasm," on which Florida comes in at number 14 for barbecue restaurants per capita. It trampled states like California and Colorado, but lagged behind states like Missouri, Texas and Alabama, which landed first place. [Estately]

MULTIPLE LOCATIONS — Hooters wants to find out if America can eat an entire two million chicken wings in one day. Whaddya say folks? Stop by tomorrow, Tuesday 29, on "National Chicken Wing Day" (boy are these holidays great), and pig out on all-you-can-eat wings for $12.99. To prove, of course, that yes, we can. [EaterWire]

NORTH BEACH — Miami.com takes a look at how The Forge has evolved since James Beard Award winning chef Christopher Lee stepped in and gives the restaurant a three-and-a-half star review. "The stars of the menu are still the prime cuts," writes food critic Jodi Mailander Farrell, who also raves about items like a "refreshing sea scallop ceviche" and a "delightful tuna tartare," among others. Finally, she calls Lee and The Forge's pastry chef, Alycia Delaney, "worthy emissaries to deliver the legend to a new generation." [Miami.com]
