It's the end of PB Steak, but only for now. Naming rising rent as their reason, the Pubbelly boys (Andreas Schreiner, Sergio Navarro, Jose Mendin) are closing the Sunset Harbour location on Sunday, August 3, hoping to relocate the restaurant to a less pricey location like Midtown, Wynwood, Design District or Biscayne Corridor at some point in the future. "We truly enjoyed giving our locals a Pubbelly-style steakhouse concept over this past year," says managing partner Andreas Schreiner, "unfortunately, the rising costs of real estate would not have allowed us to continue to operate PB Steak without raising our prices, which would go against our commitment to our customers, to be a local, every-day-eating establishment." Pubbelly, Pubbelly Sushi, Barceloneta and the newly opened L'Echon will remain open for business.
