Does the thought of playing endless Pac Man games while chugging beers to your heart's content make you sing with joy? If so, you're in luck. ARTcade, a place where you can do just that (and also lose yourself in Gallaga, Qbert, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders and Frogger) is opening up this Friday, July 11, next door to Cabaret South Beach. Owned by Cabaret proprietor Edison Farrow and partner Ed DeCaso, the arcade-meets-bar also triples as an art gallery, where various local artists will showcase their latest works. Farrow tells us, "we are creating a new, fun place to go to that is not so typical South Beach. No required bottles, no cover charge, no attitude." And if ARTcade manages to avoid what is usually the opposite of that quote in SoBe, then that sounds pretty awesome. Farrow also notes that guests will have over 60 classic 80s games to choose from at only .25 cents a pop, that they also have a full liquor bar and $5 craft beers. We welcome you, ARTcade.
