Shelborne Wyndham Grand South Beach just announced their new bar and lounge concept, Drawing Room. The brainchild of Australian-born "apotheker" and internationally recognized mixologist Albert Trummer, Drawing Room is poised to bring —in the words of Trummer — an "ancient remedy meets modern mixology approach" to the hotel and Miami when it opens this October. "Located in the original 1940's lobby, the space has been brought back to its original glory with newly added touches including Tennessee granite columns and leather-wrapped couches," writes a press release, as well as white cocktail tables where guests can enjoy "freshly crafted cocktail served from the brass cocktail carts wheeling through the room." Trummer, drawing from his experience and creativity at New York's Apotheke and Theater Bar, has dubbed his cocktail menu "A Selection of House Medicines," and will be serving drinks that fall into categories such as Stress Relievers, Pain Killers and Aphrodisiacs.

On why he chose to open a second venture in Miami, Trummer seems to have always had our Magic City in mind. "When I opened my first bar in New York City I was excited to debut my medicinal cocktail bar concept in one of the best cities in the country, but I always saw Miami as the next city to expand my brand," says Trummer, "I'm thrilled to bring my latest concept to South Florida."
