The last standing Gardner's Market in Miami has shut down. As of Sunday, the building that housed it in Coconut Grove is up for sale or lease. A sign went up this morning advertising the now vacant space.
Gardner's Market was one of the first specialty markets in Miami along with being one of the city's oldest grocers. The chain was established in 1912, and was sold to Farm Stores in the mid-2000s. There were four locations is total with all but the Coconut Grove one shuttering in the past few years — until now.
