Miami, You Finally Have Doughnuts

Miami Doughnuts launches first doughnut delivery service in the 305

There’s no denying that Miami has been seriously lacking in the doughnut department. While several shops have opened in Fort Lauderdale, none have made their way down to Miami.

Miami Doughnuts is hoping to change that.

The recently launched Miami Doughnuts is Miami’s first doughnut delivery service offering its doughnuts every weekend to breakfast hungry Miamians.

The brainchild of Edgar Galeyev, who developed a love for the pastry growing up in Russia watching his mother's shop create doughnuts daily. After moving to the US, he traveled extensively through the country sampling the best doughnut available. Once he settled in Miami he realized how much of a void there was in the doughnut market and the idea was born.

After spending a year developing his recipe, he’s now ready to sell them to Miami and letting the fact that he doesn’t have a storefront stop him.

As of now his doughnuts can be ordered through the Miami Doughnuts Facebook page. The doughnuts are $3.50 a pop, which he admits is a bit high, but says they are a solid 3 ounces in size, more than 40 percent larger than your typical doughnut. There is a six doughnut minimum order and they need to be ordered one week in advance. Deliveries are made Saturdays and Sundays and only offered in the Brickell and Downtown Miami neighborhoods -- for now.

Flavors rotate with the season but expect options like Chocolate Glazed with Coco Puffs, Vanilla Glazed with Pistachios and Sugar Powdered filled with Pineapple Cream Cheese and Strawberries.

As for an actual Miami Doughnuts store? Galeyev tells Eater he plans to open a brick-and-mortar shop soon and also hopes to start partnering with local coffee shops, cafes and the like, to sell his doughnuts.
