As many of you know, the building holding The River Seafood & Oyster Bar (the same one that also held the now shuttered Tobacco Road) is going the way of the Dodo bird soon to make room for the new developments.
But the good news is, unlike the Dodo bird, the popular seafood restaurant is still sticking around — just moving down the street. This Spring The River moves into its new digs, appropriately enough on the Miami River, in the "Flagler on the River" luxury residential complex at 340 W. Flagler St. Right down the street from Garcia’s, Casablanca's and Seasalt & Pepper.
The menu will stay the same, with even more of a focus on seafood at its popular bar. We're promised we won't see any fishnets on the walls or Miami's ubiquitous ultra-modern decor in this new space. Instead expect a "winding wood bar with a sculpted metal halo floating over head," along with a artist murals and a warm color palate in the new 7,200 square-foot-space.
No official opening date has been set just yet but stay tuned for more details.
