GastroPod is hoping to make things permanent in Miami, and is looking for your help to do so.
The Miami New Times reports that gastroPod has launched a new kickstarter campaign to help fund its transition from food truck to bonafide restaurant. As we told you late last year, the popular food truck turned pop-up took over a shipping crate in Wynwood in December 2014 after its warm reception during Art Basel to keep the restaurant going a few more weeks. It now plans to stay put but need additional funding to do so. According to its kickstarter site the funding will go to:
The money you contribute will go toward landscaping, seating, PERMITS!, and the many, many other soft costs of opening. We’re almost there – we just need your help getting our permanent licensing!
Now what do you get for the dollars you contribute to the cause? It runs the gamut from a shoutout on social media, to a pass to its opening party, to a menu item named after you, depending on how much you pledge. It hopes to raise $5,695 by Thursday, February 5. As of press time there have been 26 backers helping raise a total $1,916 so far. If you'd like to help fund the project visit the kickstarter site here.
