Seems like the rumor mill was right about this one. It's being reported that Michael Schwartz's high-end, Florida-inspired eatery, Cypress Room, is transforming into a more casual bar and grill concept called Cypress Tavern on October 29.
The change in concept is due to the fact that the restaurant, "failed to draw the consistent crowds that stream into his other Miami restaurants," such as neighboring Michael's Genuine Food & Drink and Harry's Pizzeria.
On the "more simple, a little less refined" Cypress Tavern menu expect dishes with a French feel like mussels, steak frites and duck confit. But don't worry, the restaurant's famous burger is going nowhere. [Miami Herald]
