Tongue & Cheek Closing This Weekend

Plans to "relocate" to a smaller venue

Tongue & Cheek

This weekend will be the final curtain call for South Beach's Tongue & Cheek, as it announced today it is closing its doors after Sunday's brunch service. The restaurant owned and operated by Jamie DeRosa is housed in a massive space in the South of Fifth neighborhood.

According to a rep for the restaurant DeRosa was "presented" with an opportunity that he "couldn't refuse" to break the lease on the restaurant. The rep goes on to say that after he recently opened the significantly smaller in size Izzy's Fish & Oyster he "fell in love with the feel of a more intimate space." And now plans to find look for "a location he believes will truly compliment the fare" of Tongue & Cheek.

Speaking of Izzy's, things seem to at least be going well for that concept since the rep said he plans to open two more outposts of Izzy's Fish & Oyster in Florida along with an additional project in downtown Miami in 2016.
