On Monday, November 16, Eater will present the 2015 Eater Awards, our sixth annual celebration of all that's made the restaurant world run — and run wild — in the past 12 months. Winners will be selected on both the local and national levels in five major categories, and the voting begins right now. The poll’s now closed for restaurant of the year. Next up? Chef of the Year. Cast your vote for the chef that really made a difference this year below.
Here's a little primer on the nominees. First we have Vagabond's Alex Chang who proved to the city with his inventive cuisine that there is substance and talent behind that outspoken demeanor. Then there is William Crandall who first impressed us with his culinary acumen at the high-end Azul before switching gears and heading up the kitchen at the casual, seaside eatery Izzy's. Steve Santana of Taquiza created tortillas so delicious and authentic that everyone, both patrons and restaurants alike, wants them. And finally we have our Eater Miami's 2014 Chef of the Year, Brad Kilgore, who has made the list yet again for his latest restaurant venture, Alter.
Here's how the voting works: Eater editors have named nominees in Miami for each of five major categories. Eater readers will vote, narrowing the nominees to two finalists. From those two finalists, the Eater editorial team will select a winner. Ready to play your part? This poll will be open for 24 hours; voting irregularities will be strictly policed.
