Velocity, the App That Promises to Make it Easier to Pay Your Restaurant Bill, Launches in Miami

Because waiting for your bill is so passé

There are plenty of apps promising to make our dining and drinking experience more enjoyable nowadays and the latest to hit South Florida is Velocity, the phone app that promises to eliminate waiting for the bill.

This is how it works. Once you download Velocity you can go to a "partner restaurant" where you then check-in on your phone. After that, it’s like you have a house account set up so once you finish up your meal you don’t have to wait for a bill. Your card on file automatically gets charged and the "user-set tip" is added to the tab. Splitting your tab with fellow Velocity users is also an option.

The app already has plenty of restaurants using its platform throughout the 305 including 27 Restaurant & BarAlterBagatelleCasa TuaThe DutchDriftwood RoomDrunken DragonLure Fishbar and Rockwell. The app is also available in New York, London, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto and Montreal. Check it out for yourself here.
