Matchbox, a Washington, D.C.-based restaurant chain known for its mini-burgers and wood-fired pizzas, is planning on opening its largest outpost ever right here in South Florida come early 2016.
Once completed the massive restaurant will be able to seat up to 500 people in the 13,500-square-foot space. This will be the first major expansion for the restaurant outside of D.C., which it already has four locations in, plus one in California.
We're told this isn't the only Matchbox restaurant that owners plan to build down here, as they hope to make this the first of a, "small cluster of stores throughout South Florida to open over the next 2-5 years." Stay tuned for more updates. [EaterWire]
