Next week two of South Florida's own chefs will be heading up to New York City to compete in the U.S. finals of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2015 competition.
There were more than 3,000 nominations worldwide for this year's competition, according to the press release, and it was whittled down to ten finalist per region. Miami Chef Ramiro Exposito, sous chef at Diego's Andalucia Tapas & Delicatessan, and West Palm's Danny Sterling of The Everglades Club will be competiting against eight other chefs around the country to represent the U.S. in the global competition later this year.
If they advance to the finals held in Milan this summer, they'll be judged by a panel dubbed the "Seven Sages" including chefs Gastón Acurio, Yannick Alléno, Massimo Bottura, Margot Janse, Yoshihiro Narisawa, Eric Ripert and Joan Roca. You know, no pressure. [EaterWire]
