Eater Miami was just informed that, "due to a minor permitting issue, 27 and Broken Shaker are temporarily closed - but will be back open very shortly."
No official word on what this permitting issue is but rumor has it that it has something to do with the fence separating the Shaker and 27 along with the logistics of the kitchen. As for when they'll reopen? That seems to be in the City of Miami Beach's hands now.
We will let you know as soon as we have more details.
UPDATE: Miami New Times is also reporting the 27's chef James Seyba is also no longer with the restaurant.
UPDATE #2: As of Saturday night, the Broken Shaker is re-open. 27 is also open for dinner service with brunch starting again next week. No official word on a replacement chef but it seems by a post on Instagram that Chef Pablo Fueguel has stepped in for the departed Seyba. [EaterWire/Instagram]
