Acclaimed Brooklyn Pizzeria Paulie Gee's Coming To Miami

Announced via Instagram

Popular Brooklyn pizza spot Paulie Gee's announced last night via Instagram that it has signed a lease for a Miami outpost at the former China Palace location on 8001 Biscayne Blvd.

As Eater first reported in late 2013, Paulie Gee's has been working on a large multi-city expansion. Paulie Gee's founder, Paulie Giannone, will open with a local owner and operator in each city who will oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.

Giannone is working with fellow "pizza enthusiasts" who he has personally trained. The owner and operator of the future Miami store (which Giannone asked us to withhold the name of for the time being) has been working in the Brooklyn Paulie Gee's location for about a year, according to Giannone, learning both the front and back of the house.

The Miami outpost will feature the signature pizzas from the original store along with locally-inspired items like a Cuban sandwich pizza. The interior also won't be "as dark" as the Brooklyn spot and the exterior will be repainted to reflect the restaurant's cobalt and yellow logo.

No word on when the restaurant will open to the public. Stay tuned for more updates.
