The latest addition to the NYC restaurant invasion in Miami is Quality Meats. The restaurant opened its doors to much anticipation right after the South Beach Wine and Food Festival in February. Let's see if it has been living up to the hype.
The Good: For its First Look, Miami.com's writer Sara Liss states that not-so-shockingly, "hefty slabs of beef are the star here" and the sides are " steakhousey: corn crème brûlée, Yorkshire creamed spinach, and broccoli with cheese bites." Overall she feels that it brings South Beach some, "real New York street cred." [Miami.com]
The Praise: The Miami New Times got a sneak peak at the restaurant a few days before opening and was impressed saying, "meat lovers won't be disappointed by the selection of steaks and chops," but, "chefs Koketsu and Rebholz can also handle local seafood and fruit with equal finesse." [Miami New Times]
There's More Than Just Meat: Believe it or not, people also seem to be loving the veggies at Quality Meats, too. One Yelper notes that the, "kale salad, never had salad with honey and I can't believe how incredible the taste was." [Yelp]
The One Bad Yelp Review: There's always one, right? Out of 17+ reviews listed on the site the only one-star review stated that they had a "Lousy experience. My credit card was overcharged and the restaurant has not be helpful." He closes his review kindly saying, "hopefully, it will close as fast as it has arrived." [Yelp]
