This weekend Kuro Japanese Craft Kitchen opens its doors inside Hollywood's Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The latest restaurant to the property roster describes itself as, "new-style Japanese cuisine" featuring a sushi bar, robata grill and omakase bar.
Heading up the kitchen are two rather pedigreed chefs. Its Executive Chef Alex Becker, who's also the resort's Creative Culinary Director, spent a decade working with the Nobu empire before heading to SBE's Katsuya where he helped them open several restaurants around the world. Making the sushi is Kuro's Executive Sushi Chef Shuji Hiyakawa who was a former protégé of Masaharu Morimoto.
On the menu expect plenty of Japanese plates like tuna tatakai, fish sashimis and tempura dishes along with heartier mains like Ribeye Miso and a full sushi menu. A drink menu divided into five categories – sweet, savory, bitter, salty and umami — will also be available.
The restaurant will start serving dinner nightly starting on March 28. Reservations can be made by calling 954-585-5333.
