Apparently today, March 31, is national "oysters on a half shell day." Typically we roll our eyes at made up food holidays, but when discounted oysters are involved our cynicism goes down a few notches. Here are a three places around South Florida that are celebrating the holiday you never knew about with discounted oyster specials.
KENDALL — From 4 to 8 p.m. today Devon Seafood + Steak will celebrate the 'holiday' by offering a One Buck Shuck special, which is a selection of oysters on the half shell for just $1. On the menu for today is six different types of East and West Coast oysters on the half shell like Beau Soleil; Naked Cowboy; Katama Bay; and Malpeques. [EaterWire]
SOUTH BEACH — All day today, Lure Fishbar is offering a platter of six oysters featuring chef’s selection of East and West coast varieties and a S.O.S. Martini for $20. [EaterWire]
