Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few years, you've noticed there are some major changes happening to the Design District. Most of it has been retail focused but Women's Wear Daily is reporting that some high-end restaurants are also going to be in the mix.
According to the publication, eateries from world-renowned chefs Joël Robuchon and Jean-Georges Vongerichten will be opening up when the area's third-phase of development is complete in the Summer of 2016.
According to the article, the Design District's in-the-works Paradise Plaza will feature two floors of retail along with Robuchon’s Atelier while a “major restaurant” is slated to go into the hotel on the corner of 40th Street and First Avenue. The article doesn't clearly state that's where Vongerichten's concept is going, but the chef certainly has a history of teaming up with high-end hotels in the past like the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort and The Edition Hotel.
Stay tuned for more details. [Women's Wear Daily]
