Your Brickell Restaurant Construction Updates

And there are a lot of them...

Miami seems in a perpetual state of under construction and no neighborhood seems to know that better than Brickell. With places constantly opening — and closing — here are some of the area's latest construction updates.

We reported a few months back that La Gazzetta had closed. Now we know what's going in its place: another outpost of Baires Grill, the popular Argentine steakhouse on Lincoln Road.

The Colombian nightclub Kukaramakara at 1250 South Miami Avenue has also shuttered. The massive space has held plenty of short-lived restaurants and nightlife concepts over the years. Taking over its spot next will be a new gastro-club Ladivina.

A tipster informed us of a new nightclub and lounge concept called Level, which is currently under construction in the 1100 Millecento building at 1100 S. Miami Ave. According to the informant, "what I have seen there is a lot of work to be done before it is complete — space is just dirt and bricks at this time. Signs also indicate that (another) gelato and a pizza place will be opening as well — confusing since there are already multiple pizza gelato and Italian spots in that neighborhood."

And the new installment of Tobacco Road? We're told construction has already begun and it'll open its doors in January 2016.
