Centro Taco to Open in Downtown Sakaya Kitchen Space

Late last week the Miami New Times reported that Richard Hales, the chef and owner of Sakaya Kitchen and Blackbrick Chinese, is opening a new taqueria concept in the former Sakaya Kitchen downtown Miami location.

The restaurant is slated to open sometime this summer, with a menu filled with the, "chef's own unique takes on authentic Mexican cuisine." And unlike it's predecessor Sakaya Kitchen, the restaurant will be full-service.

The article makes note that this isn't Hales attempt to cash-in on "Miami's tacomania," saying that Hales' had made plans years ago to open a Mexican concept but the lease for the space fell through.

No word on an official opening date. Stay tuned for more details.
