Richard Hales' much-anticipated Mexican concept, Centro Taco, officially opens for business today. Self described as a "modern Mexican" concept, it features Hales take on the popular cuisine.
Taking over the former Sakaya Kitchen space in Downtown Miami at 125 SE 3rd Avenue, the full-service restaurant features a rather comprehensive menu executed by executive chef James Seyba including tacos served on homemade tortillas, tortas made with bread baked in-house, quesos, and plenty of desserts. And if you're a vegan looking to get your taco fix, you're in luck as Centro has a whole section dedicated to meatless dishes.
Much like the aeshetic of Blackbrick Chinese, the restaurant's funky interior was designed by Hales' and displays many of his childhood heros on the walls, graffiti art and bright wallpaper.
Centro Taco is now open Monday through Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m.; Friday 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. To make your reservation call 305-371-2518.
